Prompted by the British publication of a novel about Robert Capa and Gerda Taro, The Guardian has published an interesting essay about the two legendary photographers and their relationship. Romantically involved and professionally linked, they reinvented war photography, says the The Guardian, while covering the Spanish Civil War in the 1930s. Both were essentially refugees of that turbulent era and both died in combat.

The Rochester Democrat and Chronicle recently revealed that, in the years from 1974 to 2006, Kodak operated a small nuclear reactor in a basement of one of the buildings in Kodak Park, the company's industrial campus in Rochester, New York. The device, about the size of a refrigerator, contained 3.5 pounds of enriched uranium and was used to do research on neutron imaging.

A photo montage created from more than 109,000 images of people jumping will be printed as a single photograph more than one kilometer long and exhibited at ExCel London from June 1 through June 9, reports the Royal Photographic Society. The project, called Jump4London, is the brainchild of artist Clare Newton.
